Is Nepal Moving Forward for another Lockdown?
Many travelers who were planning to visit Nepal in May-June email us to know the current situation. We are gathering information and constantly in touch with tourism officials to give correct information to our travelers.
Currently, the Government of Nepal is constantly monitoring the situation and necessary precautions are already implemented in different parts of the country. We hope the cases will not escalate here in Nepal.
The government of Nepal has advised not to open educational institutes, Cafes, Clubs, Bars, etc has a restricted time frame that can only be opened till 8:00 PM. Not more than 25 people can gather in ceremonies and parties.
The government of Nepal has authorized local authorities to impose lockdowns within their jurisdictions. Limited lockdowns in Pokhara and many towns in the Terai remain possible.

The Banke District Administration Office has imposed a lockdown in the district for one week.

Neighboring Country Current Situation
As we all know Nepal has an open border with one of the neighboring country India. India has been hit hard by 2nd wave of covid-19. India broke the world record for the newest coronavirus cases this week, surpassing 330,000 new cases on Friday, as deaths in the past 24 hours jumped to a record 2,263.
As Nepal has an open border with India, the Government of Nepal is establishing checkpoints and a quarantine facility has been placed for people entering Nepal.
